It Begins

So now i notice that then new Batman Trailer is also out. It looks pretty damn good. not sure if i like the new alfred. But I to like the new Wayne/Batman. It also looks like they are sticking pretty close to the original creation story just revamped for the times.

NAID

I so need a T-shirt from these guys, you know, one that reads “National Assocation for Information Destruction“. Apparently they released a report last week that stated simply that the only way to securely wipe a hard drive is to physically destroy it, preferably by melting it. Ccoming on the heals of this report is this blunder by the UK MoD.

Good Bye Flash?

Recently, Adobe made its plans to follow through buying out Macromedia. I can only speculate at what this will mean in terms of what is kept and what goes in terms of software as both companies had their own versions of everything… For example Adobe GoLive and Macromedia Dreamweaver…. Dreamweaver (in my books) is a far superior editing tool than GoLive. On the other hand, Adobe Illustrator is far superior (in my books) to Macromedia Freehand. But what programs like Flash? Flash is great… Adobe has tried to make their own thing that does this (I think they abandoned it a while back though as I can no longer find it on their site). All and all, this merger has its ups and downs… what remains to be seen is exactly what those ups and downs are.

Adobe Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq: ADBE) has announced a definitive agreement to acquire Macromedia (Nasdaq: MACR) in an all-stock transaction valued at approximately $3.4 billion. Under the terms of the agreement, which has been approved by both boards of directors, Macromedia stockholders will receive, at a fixed exchange ratio, 0.69 shares of Adobe common stock for every share of Macromedia common stock in a tax-free exchange. Based on Adobe’s and Macromedia’s closing prices on Friday April 15, 2005, this represents a price of $41.86 per share of Macromedia common stock.
