He’s Baaaack

He may be 3 Dimensional but he’s just as shallow as ever. Leisure Suit Larry is back. That’s right boys and girls the games your parents didn’t want you to play is back with even more polygons and we’re now old enough to buy it ourselves. There is even a trailer which I must add has a hint of Girl on Girl action(watch for it). Appearantly Larry goes Magna Cum Laude.

Batman Begins Teaser Released

That’s right folks, WB has posted a teaser on their website. The problem is the site really doesn’t like anything but IE so I dug into the html and ripped out the URL for the hi-quality apple teaser [mirror]. The teaser is attached to the movie “The Village” which opens today, thus until later today, the teaser is only available on the Internet.

The teaser is much as the name suggests, a teaser. It is very Bruce Wayne heavy with only one shot of batman throughout the entire trailer … though the voice over and the mood set by the sets makes up for this. “… And there was something out there in the darkness … something terrifying … something that will not stop until it gets revenge … “

Hell my saw is smarter than you …

A company called SawStop has developed a saw that recognizes the electrical properties of what it’s cutting and stops the saw when it isn’t cutting, well, wood. To really understand how impressive this is, watch this quicktime video.

Celtae

I have mentioned this band before, but there are those of you who haven’t be forced to listen to the CD I purchased at Mosaic this year … and I want to try out a new piece of flash code …

Celtae’s Official Web Site is http://www.celtae.ca and they have mp3 downloads on this page. Which, btw, are pretty much all the lyrical songs on the disc. The most powerful song that they have, IMO, is Merchant Marine . Another good one available for download is the Rocky Road to Dublin.

So Darn Funny II

So I decided to backtrack to home site where the commercial came from … and am I glad I did . It links to Albino Blacksheep and apparently I’m not the first on this blog to post about it and thus I’ve renamed this entry from Flash Animations to “So Darn Funny II” … since that’s what it essentially became. So without further ado, watch my contributions to this ongoing saga!

The Lost Smurf Episode: Describe by Delg as, and I quote here, something “that should never have been unleashed upon the earth”.

Elvis in Flash: When asked for comment, Delg replied “that also was wrong… wrong… must clean eyes with bleach.”

Queen’s Hidden Message in Another One Bite’s The Dust. There is also a message in Led Zepplin’s Stairway to Heaven and Britney Spear’s Hit Me Baby One More Time.

I located Gonads and Strife again. I know most of us have seen it but since I haven’t seen it in a while and there is a good chance others haven’t seen it as well … watchit!

Icon Story which I can’t recall if it has ever been here before or not, but it is hilarious.

Hestekor’s Singing Ponies is kind of neat as well.

Shii’s Song … Cute but depressing

Windows Really Good Edition which is much like windows any other edition …

Or how about The Mad Scientist and the Hamster which reminds me of Garrek for some reason …

The Seizure Machine :)

Some philosophy

Oh and Some Subliminal Messages

And so much more!.

Asian Commercials

Am I the only one who has noticed that Japanese Asian Commercials are like x1000 better than ours? For example, there is this one which is one guy telling his co-working all about the Kill Bill DVD he just bought. :)

Already disappointed

ok, so I was watching space and they mentioned the batmobile. I have always been a fan of the batmobile, especially the original and Tim Burton’s versions… after Tim Burton the batmobile started going downhill IMO. Well, it seems to have hit an all new low with an SUV-ish batmobile… YUCK is all I can say.

batmobile 01
batmobile 02
batmobile 03

On another note, batman’s costume is back to basics, which is nice to see. Costume

Ray Charles Robinson

I first heard the music of Ray Charles in Grade 5. “Hit The Road Jack” playing from an old well-worn vinyl which was scratchy and tinny. My 5th Grade music teacher was obsessed with the Mr. Charles and subjected her students to his music almost daily. To most is was a near unbearable torture, to me it was heaven: Hit The Road Jack, Georgia, Unchain My Heart, and so on issued forth from the record player. When it came time to write a report on a musician, I naturally selected Ray Charles. Not only because I liked his music but because I was a brown noser and writing about Ray Charles would immediately increase my mark.

And it worked (I still possess the report for it bears an amazing 100% upon it). Still, after Grade 5, my love for with Ray Charles’ music has never truly gone away. Thus when I heard that Ray Charles had died at the age of 73 last month, I was quite shocked. I was even more shocked when I learned that Unsinn, who had been in Germany, had not heard the news as of yet. I would have thought that the death of a man such as Ray Charles would have been mourned around the world. I was wrong. Still, nothing prepared me for the anger I felt last Tuesday when I was the trailer for “Ray”, a movie about Ray Charles life. It felt to me as if the movie industry, the vultures that they are, had waited until Ray had died and then swooped down to make money from the man’s corpse … Still, another interpretation, of course, is that they are honouring the life of Ray Charles and hadn’t really expected him to die before the movie was released. I have no idea where I’m going with this. I’m done.

The Delicate Art of Parking

For those of you who haven’t seen the movie “The Delicate Art of Parking”, it is a great movie … Assuming you don’t get motion sickness. The camera work is rough, by this I mean it looks like the footage from Iraq where the camera man was running, walking, and/or standing with the camera on his/her shoulder. Still, it is funny and one can play a fun game of watching the parked cars in the background to see when they change … it’s like the boom mike thing all over again. In any case, the movie is only playing in Toronto and Regina, but next month it will expand to include Saskatoon (and will finally hit the Rainbow here in Regina). The movie outrageously funny and if you get the chance, watch the trailer on the official website. And for those of you who saw the movie and didn’t sit through the credit, take a look at ‘em, especially the bit about the copyright and this not being based on any real person “[e]xcept for Bob - he’s based on Blake Corbet …”

Lonny: “It doesn’t bother you to get hit then?”
Grant: “No, this is only the sixth time I’ve been hit which is less than once a year.”
