Orgasms…

This was rather hillarious. Although my buddy from New Zealand didn’t seem to think so
Work or Spoon?
Posted by plurk in Uncategorized on February 27th, 2004
“Have you ever had a day where you just thought that gouging your eyes out with a spoon would be so much less painful than going to work? We certainly have. We were sick of useless co-workers and bosses that would better serve as door stops so we created this site as a way to vent our frustration to the unsuspecting world.”
— Work or Spoon?
My personal favourites are:
- … But what OS is it running?
- … Save the Bunnies!
- … Now I need you to write a document …
- … Box Office Horror
And last but not least:
Gummy Bears, M&Ms…
Here I am condemned
To an island by myself
Stale candy is residing on
The shelf
Eight bucks a pound
To make you nice and round.
Enjoy your fat ass!Bwhahaha! We are all going to be crazy with iambic pentameter.
That is so cool.

We asked Xor’Arch how he came up with the whole idea. He explained that his Router had some problems with his ISP’s Cable internet connection. He needed another way to provide his network with an internet connection. The only possible way was to implement an extra computer to share the internet connection, so the router would be unnecessary … The plans for an extra PC, functioning as a router, firewall and download-machine were made long before I got the idea to make the Borg Cube. I first intended to use a small midi case (A-Open H340B) with a Via EPIA-M 933Mhz chipset and 256MB RAM memory. After having put it all together, I was not really satisfied with the way it looked. It looked kinda boring to me, and that’s when I got the idea to build a case myself. Here’s why I chose Borg to be the design’s theme:
- To Route: Collective – A central point where everything comes together and gets sent out to multiple computers.
- Act as Firewall: To prevent hostile attempts to penetrate the system, and neutralize them.
- To Download: All your bytes will be assimilated…
- And, the Borg are just cool…..
And an additional bonus cool item: LaCie Bigger Disk. Retailing in April for US$1,199,00. External Storage Drive (USB2, Firewire400/800). Capacity: 1 terrabyte.
Yesterday, Communist. Today, Terrorist.
Posted by plurk in Uncategorized on February 25th, 2004
The US has come full circle today. From the 1920’s through the late 1950’s, people who opposed the government of the day were labelled communists. Today, they call them terrorists.
Secretary of Education Rod Paige described the National Education Association as a “terrorist organization” in remarks at a private White House meeting before the nation’s governors on Monday.
The NEA has 2.7 million members, is the largest teachers union in the United States, and regularly donates millions of dollars to the campaigns of mostly liberal Democratic candidates who promise more money to fund education.
… Democratic Missouri Gov. Bob Holden said Paige is critical of the NEA because they do not support Bush’s education policies. … The NEA has said it will be suing the Bush administration for allegedly underfunding the “No Child Left Behind” law. Conservative columnist Oliver North wrote in an August 23, 2002 syndicated column that despite getting an enormous $26.5 billion boost in new education spending from the Republican Congress as part of President Bush’s “No Child Left Behind” law, the NEA still said it had “no new money … for public education and struggling schools.”
Another kick at the cat

Orgin: Bastardized version of Another kick at the can, a child’s game. “Kicking the cat” is also an idiom in its own right, usually used when one wants to express frustration - “That meeting was so boring and unproductive that when I finally got home, I had to kick the cat.”
Angel cancelled
Posted by plurk in Uncategorized on February 21st, 2004
I would like to say for the record: “This fucking sucks“.
For the last seven years Angel and Buffy the Vampire Slayer have been cornerstones of our network … producers of Angel deserve to be able to wrap up the series in a way befitting a classic television series and that is why we went to Joss to let him know that this would be the last year of the series on The WB.
What happens when you knock out all the cornerstones holding up a building? I can’t believe Angel has been cancelled … it was just hitting it’s stride. Smile Time was utterly amazing, I can’t recall another episode that was as funny … and the 100th episode with Cordie … amazing. Angel’s sudden and unwarranted non-renewal is an outrageous. Why would the WB cancel their second-highest rated show and renew Charmed for a seventh season! Have you seen Charmed this season! MAY GOD! WHAT POT SMOKING MOTHERFUCKERS DO THEY HAVE WORKING FOR THEM?!? I mean, this ain’t right! Dr. Who, Farscape, Firefly, and now Angel … all killed before their time while shows that _should_ be cancelled for their own good continue onward!
To quote the WB’s own Rating listings:
ANGEL outperformed “The West Wing,” “King of Queens” and “Becker” in the time period to rank #3 among persons 12-34 (2.0/5) and men 12-34 (2.1/6). The series defeated both CBS and NBC in women 12-34 (1.9/5) and female teens (1.8/5). ANGEL also posted year-to-year gains in all 12-34 and teen demos as well as among adults 18-34 (up +6%) and men 18-34 (up +27%).
Why do you cancel a show that is not only your second highest rated show, but is also gaining more viewers every year? Explain the logic of this to me … it is mind boggling?! The only thing left on the WB now is Smallville … and I haven’t followed it enough this season to be really into it.
There is some hope on the horizon. According to the TV Times (free registration required), ME and 20th Century Fox are putting together a proposal for UPN to pick up the series.
A god somewhere hates me
Posted by plurk in Uncategorized on February 20th, 2004
I have done something, I’m assuming in a past life, to piss off a very minor and not overly important god. Important enough that he/she/it can make my life hell with respects to computer equipment (ie: Eris), but unable to do things like kill and/or maim me. For those of you not in the know, Eris fried itself today. Board toast, Primary Partition damaged. What does this mean? Many many many hours of therapy will be needed before Garett is safe to let out into the general populous … Things are almost back to normal … except my blood pressure. WHY AM I CURSED SO! WHY?!
Spintronics!

Yay for American military spending! They fund cool stuff.
“development of the spin degree of freedom of the electron in addition to the charge in various organic and polymeric devices and to define all facets of the research necessary to continue the trend that was started in 1998 with the introduction of spintronic devices in magnetic storage and which is continuing currently with the development of semiconductor spintronics. These new electronic and photonic devices will provide new paradigms of high speed, low power memory, logic and communication devices. Organic and polymer electronics have been maturing as well and will also provide revolutionary low cost solutions to displays and eventually to memory and processing. Science and technology that will develop the materials science and device technology necessary to combine these current directions to provide a series of organic spintronic devices like LED’s, FET’s, memory cells etc.”
Foggy
Posted by plurk in Uncategorized on February 19th, 2004
Damn is it foggy outside … worse than when we had the blizzards. Still, have you ever noticed how it always looks worse to the human eye than to say a Camera? Below is a picture from on Campus. You can tell it is foggy, but with the naked eye I can’t see across the greens.
