Why Not show them?

I ran accross this link on the old /. and found it to be immensly amusing. These are the top 10 commercials that america won’t see for various reasons. I hope Plurk can mirror them so they don’t go away.

No Rest for the Wicked!

Well Slam my boots and hogtie me but if my previous post didn’t lead to even more webcomics. Like Van Von Hunter Which is so pocking hilarious with kewl artwork. Check this one out about american beer (at least I assume it is american!). At this rate I won’t ever sleep until school starts. Also another very funny one that I think Fyn pointed out to me at one time but forgot about, called ctrl-alt-del which has had me giggling like mad. Now if that wasn’t enough thgrough links from the previously mentioned Artiztech to some Adult comics that are very funny and well Adult themed(read: nudity and swears… so PG13 in Canada or NC17 in the Yank areas) Such as the wonderful Misadventures of Chichi-Chan There are some more at the White Lightning Productions Main page but they are all short strips but funny as hell. Sexy Losers is another hilarious comic… Oh my god you have got to see the current one it is something I would Expect to hear as a joke from Colin.

New Funnyness

Well as was fortold in the fortune cookie of prophesy I have come forth to engage your senses (well really just your eyes but it sounds kewler that way) with newish webcomics. First thou shalt go and view Evilish with which thou shalt laugh and laugh. Then you shall counteth to three, er … I mean Go look at the amazing artwork and kewlnes that is Underpower. Though at first glance at the name don’t assume as I did that this is about Invader Zim-esque radioactive underwear. After that if you have managed to somehow find some sleep use your energy reserves to check out this very nicely drawn and funny comic aptly called Vendetta. So there you are I said I would do it but I never said when. Oh and if you are still looking for another reason to do nothing but read even more webcomics there is Artiztech an amusing and decently drawn comic that has some really good moments.

How many Iraqi’s Celebrated?

I just ran across the article entitled “How We Lost the Victory” from last April. I’m not sure how accurate it is , but it claims that there were only 150 Iraqi’s in Farbus Square to watch the statue get pulled down … and most of them where militiamen of the INC

… [E]ven a cursory examination of last week’s statue-toppling propaganda tape reveals that no more than 150 Iraqis gathered in Farbus Square to watch American Marines – not Iraqis – pull down the dictator’s statue. Hailing “all the demonstrations in the streets,” Defense Secretary Rumsfeld waxed rhapsodically: “Watching them,” he told reporters, “one cannot help but think of the fall of the Berlin Wall and the collapse of the Iron Curtain.”

Hundreds of thousands of cheering Berliners filled the streets when their divided city was reunited in 1989. Close to a million Yugoslavs crowded Belgrade at the end of Slobodan Milosevic’s rule in 2000. While some individual Iraqis have welcomed U.S. troops, there haven’t been similar outpourings of approval for our “liberation.” Most of the crowds are too busy carrying off Uday’s sofas to say thanks, and law-abiding citizens are at home putting out fires or fending off their rapacious neighbors with AK-47s. Yet Americans wanted to see their troops greeted as liberators, so that’s what they saw on TV. Perhaps Francis Fukuyama was correct – if it only takes 150 happy looters to make history, maybe history is over.

… The statue bashers were militiamen of the Iraqi National Congress, an anti-Saddam outfit led by one Ahmed Chalabi. The INC was flown into Iraq by the Pentagon over CIA and State Department protests. Chalabi is Rumsfeld’s choice to become Iraq’s next puppet president.

What is Exposé?

Exposé is the coolest UI innovation I have ever seen! The latest release of Mac OS X, 10.3, includes this feature … and well, take a look at this quicktime video (direct link, 9mb). The power of this feature I can not begin to describe, but I’ll try. First one hits F9 to tile all the windows … Mac OS X scales them down and neatly arranges them, so you can see what’s in every single one. That’s not all. Move your mouse from one tiled window to the next, and they expand to 2/3rd size over the other windows. Then you simply click the window you want and they are all restored to full size again. That’s not all though. Through the use of the F10 key, you can manage multiple open windows from the same program easier. For example say you have ten documents open in Open Office. Select one, hit F10 and all the open office documents tile like when you pressed F9 … but every other non-openoffice document fades to grey in the background. Very cool. But that’s not all still. The final feature of Exposé is the ability to wipe all windows off the desktop when you hit F11, then restore them the same way. So very cool.
